I’ve been experimenting with new approaches this spring.
While trying to be less representative,
I had an idea to paint as if it were a collage.
This approach forces you to focus on simple, large shapes and design.
As if cutting them out of paper.

I was thinking about the subtle colors of
spring approaching in New England
and how I could exaggerate them.
I used my iPad to help simplify the shapes and play with colors.
It’s fun to let go and see where the painting takes you.
Lately, I’m enjoying the “process.”
Without concern for the “product.”
Very freeing.
