I recently tried something new
in order to mix things up in the studio.
These are 12 x 12 on mixed media board
painted with acrylic gouache
and added coloraid paper.
I started with three quick value sketches
done on walks in the woods.
After painting the background and larger shapes
with exaggerated colors,
I chose the coloraid papers for each one
Randomly cutting paper and arranging the shapes
into pleasing designs
is so freeing and unpredictable.
This approach reminds me how important it is
to let the process lead the way
and never have pre-conceived notions
about results!
